I used to go to the Playhouse a lot, for singing and drama. I was a performer and I still do it once a month. I’m 93.

One of the things that happened to me was that I was in the Mexican hat dance production, in the chorus, and I was all dressed up lovely, with all colourful things. And the ladies came on and we had a partner, you see. So we did this clicking about and dancing, and then all the men had to go off.

But unfortunately, my partner never went. So I'm saying to him “Go off, I can't do me dancing!” - and all the others are doing what’s needed, and he’s following me all over. And what happened was - I was very dramatic, I had a shawl and I went like that (gestures) and it caught on the fly of his trousers. So that's why he couldn't get away!
