Right now when I look out at the world there is a heartbreak around the violence and the poverty for so many people. I have a true belief that there is absolutely plenty to go around, so wish things were distributed far more fairly. I also experience it directly with my grandkids. I watch them and the struggles that they have because we’re not in a position to help them financially.

My granddaughter did her law degree and got a first, and I would so love to have supported her to take that further and take up a legal profession. I felt joy in imagining how well she could represent others but the costs put her off and she ended up working in a pub but she has now found a job in a school doing pastoral care and I imagine she’ll be really good at that.
