My mother came to England in the early 60’s with five children. Her husband had come two years before and worked in the foundries, although he was a very well-educated man. She had no other hobbies apart from service at the Gurdwara, the Sikh temple. That was her hobby, her passion, her life, her spirituality. She’s 96 now. With a beautiful smile.
