There were eight local picture houses in them days. The first picture I remember seeing was Charlie Chaplin, I were eleven years old. We used to sit in t’penny rush, you were well off if you went in 2d’s - you got a stick of rock. You used to have to take a jam jar, that got you in, a penny back on the pot.
