#872 Anne Entwistle Watching the planes at Leeds-Bradford Airport

Anne Entwistle

We liked to go and see the aeroplanes. We used to get a fish, take it up there ‘cause it’s not far from Murgatroyds, and we used to eat it watching the planes, if there were any.

I used to do that with my husband – it were him that started it off. Then we used to walk round the Tarncause it’s not far – it’s a ride away, but it’s not far. My husband were a fisherman.

You have to wait a long time sometimes, and sometimes when it sets off it goes round and then it comes over where you are, in the car, so it’s good. You hear them when they rev up, when they’re setting off. It’s noisy!

My daughter does the same, she takes me a lot – her and her husband used to do it.

When you’re walking round the Tarn they come right over the water, when they’ve took off, so you see them there as well sometimes, in the summer.
