#879 Margaret Family Comes First

Margaret

We went to Australia in 1961. We lent £4000 from the government and we bought a new home in Sydney. The person who bought it from us at £4000 sold it for £250,000!

We had to come home because my dad was poorly and he didn’t want to leave us behind. We lived there until 1973 and we had three boys who now have dual nationality and made a life here. Sometimes when it snows I wish I was back in Australia but for the most part we’ve had a really good life here. I’m glad we had the opportunity to travel but family comes first.
