I used to work on Meanwood Road at an Italian owned biscuit making factory. I started working not short of my 16th birthday. I went job bobbing, then there was a phone call to my mum saying I’ve got the job. They gave me a barrel of dough and you had to manhandle it and then you had to run and get more. We worked on conveyor belts and it was really hot. At first, half of my biscuits landed on the floor!
