#1023 Peter Gray Edinburgh Festival

Peter Gray

One thing I do every year is go to the Edinburgh Festival for five days, four nights. I go with Leeds Drama Workshop at Swarthmore. Bernard organises it. I try to see a bit of everything. There are twelve of us going this time. We go to see what we want to see, not always together, but there are a couple of shows we will go to as a group.

I always go to Breakfast with Shakespeare. They don’t stick to the story and you get a croissant and a coffee. One year one of the group had seen it before me and said “get there early and look under the seats, there’s a hat under one” So I did. And they begin the show and then a female performers says, “where’s the King, where’s the King? Can you look under your seats?”

People in the audience are often timid, so I don’t think they were expecting my volume. She was a bit staggered by it!
