Work wise I left school and I got day release in the College of Commerce, training to be a cost accountant. By the time I got 21, I got fed up of it, it was too heavy. So I changed and got a job in the export department, which I found very interesting. Geography was always my favourite subject in school so I enjoyed the job.
I’m interested in the Lake District. I think it’s beautiful up there. For many years I’ve been going up there in the mountains, organising groups. I’ve got a lot of Lake District books and I like Alfred Wainwright, who produced pocket books for the Lake District.
