Jamadan
I come from Afghanistan. I came here 20 years ago. Because of the war. And because one of my sons was killed in the war. There was always war. And now there is the Taliban.
20 years ago it was easy to get here. Now it is more difficult. But then, because it was easy to cross the border from Afghanistan into Iran and through Iran into Turkey I was able to travel by bus. Then I took a short journey by boat to Greece. And then I flew from there to France. They treated me very kindly there. They said have some sleep and then move on - and I took the ferry. I stayed with the police one night. They helped me.
I had heard a lot about the UK, how they take care of asylum , it’s safe, far away from war, no disappointment, comfortable, system kind, house, choose to stay in
Leeds, multicultural , people from many backgrounds, kind, no bad experiences. I have family in Germany waiting to come to me.
Good experience, I used to work for the army, in Helmand.
