Me uncle and me dad bought a houseboat, they moored it in York and we used to go over every week. Me dad and me uncle stayed on the boat Friday and Saturday night but me and me mam had to come home to Leeds because we had me grandma living with us and she was poorly. Me and me mam used to come home on Royal Mail train at 10 to 10.

I remember we used to go to Albert’s who we bought the boat off and it were the first time I had Finny Haddock, with two eggs on top.
