I worked for Leeds Polytechnic. We used to cater for the degree ceremonies and I liked to see them all dressed up. They would have such a lovely do, and I would meet all the parents and we always got on. I worked on the catering team. The best bit was doing the degree ceremonies, when you had to put on a do.

They were always on a Saturday and you got double pay and tips - it was one day per year. I have to say I loved every student, and they would introduce me to their parents and we'd have jokes and laughs. I loved that job.
