I was born in Ireland and I’ve lived in Leeds for 50 years. I don’t live in the care home, I’m just here on respite. I lived on Lincoln Green Road for 32 years, and I was married for a long time. My husband, he knew me like the back of his hand, he used to say to me be a bit gentler with people!

I never wanted my kids to be frightened of us. I want them to see us as their friends, but also to respect us. I always worked, all my life. I had two kids that lived and two that died.

My husband he had a bad chest, he had a great sense of humour.

I have never hated anybody.
