I came from Uganda in 1968. I arrived on a Sunday in December. There was snow. And I was only wearing a sleeveless cotton dress. Then an English lady took me to work in the factory on the Monday. After 6 months I said to my father I’m not going to work here anymore. I’m going to train as a nurse. He said you can’t do that. It’s a dirty job. But I did the training and became a nurse. I worked nights for 15 years. At the weekend, when you get double pay! I had to come home from work and take the children to school. Then make dinner for my father in law and take it to the Temple. When I retired I was bored so I went to a Yoga class and now I am a Yoga Teacher.
