I've worked with Pyramid for about 15 years. I started out as a volunteer to get myself back into work after having timeout with children. I loved the freedom of arts expression that we have here and the fact that people were brought out of themselves and allowed to express themselves - also the way that they were treated, was very respectful.

Pyramid was formed in 1989. It started at the Meanwood Park hospital. A lady called Julia Piggott started it. She used to go there for a Sunday Arts Club. When Meanwood Park was closed down and people went to live in the community, she carried on with the Arts Club, it was very important to her. It started off quite small, probably just with one group, and now we had five or six groups meeting at the studio and we have thirteen or more ones-to-one sessions.

The Legends is for over fifties and two members of the group have been with us since 1989. They met Julia at Meanwood Park and have remained with us ever since.
