When I was working, I was only young, I used to go out on a Friday night with the lads and I used to pay for drinks.

One day my mam told me, she said, “you know what you’re doing, don’t you Roy? You’re not buying them drinks, you’re buying friendship. She said “Next week you go and tell them you’ve no money and they have to buy the drinks.”

So I did as she said. They all walked off.
