When I was growing up in the 1950s, it was very different.
As children we used to play outside most of the time, games such as skipping, hopscotch, whip and top, conkers, but my favourite was when we had empty treacle tins you could make into stilts, put two holes in the sides of the tins and thread some string through and away you went.
I loved the sound of them when walking up and down the street.
