I hated going to school, the nuns were so cruel, they would punish you for the slightest thing. Some poor kids were always picked on by them. I was just glad when it wasn't me. They thought nothing of beating you. The worst part was the threats they made to you of going to hell or purgatory. This frightened my younger sister so much that she ran home from school one day when she was about 12. She was so traumatised that our mam didn't make her go back to school.
