Leung Yip
I was born in Hong Kong during the Second World War. I married in Hong Kong in 1957. In 1963 I emigrated to the UK. I was in Liverpool for two years. Then I moved to Leeds and opened a Chinese takeaway shop, which me and my husband ran for 30 years. Now I am retired, and live at Moortown Corner, Leeds. After retirement I felt lost, but with the support of Lychee Red Chinese Senior Project I started making new friends and this led me to joining The Performance Ensemble. I became part of a very creative community of people from many different cultures and backgrounds. I joined in. It made me happy.
