As I was walking down the lane to the bus stop I saw the bus pull away. There are two I can get; the 56 and the 19. I prefer the 56 because I can get off at the top and walk down the road. It was the 56 that had pulled away. Almost immediately a 19 came. It was ahead of his time, so he stood for a while.

I got on and put my stick where the magazines are while I got my pass out. Then sat down without it. I’d picked up a paper and was looking at the crossword when my stick suddenly clattered to the floor. This young man jumps up straight away and says I’ll get it for you. People are helpful.
